Conakry, June 23, 2025 – On the very first day of the 2025 National Baccalaureate exams, a case of identity fraud was uncovered at Barry Diawadou High School in Dixinn. Two candidates showed up under the same name, carrying nearly identical forged school ID cards, despite coming from different academic institutions.
Thanks to the sharp vigilance of the exam staff, the irregularity was quickly detected. Upon inspection, one of the individuals was found not to be on the official candidate list. He was immediately detained and handed over to law enforcement authorities.
Mamadi Konaté, the local education official, strongly condemned the attempted fraud, suggesting possible collusion between certain schools. He praised the swift action of the exam supervisors and confirmed that security protocols have now been tightened across all exam centers. No mobile phones are allowed, not even for officials, and exam materials are now opened under strict security procedures.
The education authorities have pledged tough sanctions against all those involved in this attempted fraud. This case sends a clear message: any attempt to cheat will be identified, stopped, and punished without leniency.
