In the early hours of Saturday, June 21, 2025, a fire broke out in one of the warehouses of the Expanded Program on Immunization (PEV) located in Dixinn, resulting in the destruction of a significant stock of vaccines.
Upon receiving the news, the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr. Oumar Diouhé Bah, promptly visited the site. Under his supervision, firefighters and emergency responders managed to bring the fire under control and prevent further damage.
Deeply affected by the scale of the material losses, Dr. Bah expressed his regret over the incident. He also ordered the immediate establishment of a special task force to assess the extent of the damage and determine the cause and accountability.
